Just a Trifle...

Trifle
Function:noun
1 : something of little value, substance, or importance 2 : a dessert typically consisting of plain or sponge cake often soaked with wine or spirits (as brandy or rum) and topped with layers of preserves, custard, and cream
— a trifle: to some small degree

I promised pictures...and a recipe.

Have you ever watch Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade? This is one of Those kind of recipes...

Strawberry Trifle

1 Angel Food Cake Bar
1 pkg Cook and Serve Jello Vanilla Pudding
1 can Whipped Cream
2 c Berries (I used 1 cup thawed fresh strawberries I froze last year and a cup of fresh mixed berries)

1 Trifle Bowl (any straight sided bowl will do...or small individual dessert cups)

First, make the pudding according to the package, chill it a little, but it shouldn't be fully chilled and firmed...

cut the angel food cake into small bite-sized cubes

Spread cake evenly on bottom of dish, top with pudding, then whipped cream and a finally a layer of thawed or fresh strawberries. Repeat as many times as you can in your bowl(s.) On the final layer use your prettiest berries, I used Blackberries, Blueberries and fresh Strawberries.

I put mine together about 4 hours before we ate it, waiting until the last minute to add the final whipped cream and fresh berries layer.

Thanks for stopping by!!
