I am Super late posting my latest Say it With Letters project, I put it off until the last minute (I am So good at procrastination!!!) and then I got sick...
The shape I received to play with this time is the 8 in. Crafty Scissors...Super fun shape! So many things popped into my head when I sat to alter it...I was out of the paper I Really wanted to use (Cosmo Cricket Material Girl.) I sat looking at the shape and my new October Afternoon Thrift Store pad was sitting right there next to it...it seemed like the Perfect match! I chose the light minty doily pattern, some Luscious Silk Ribbon from Sharon's Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, a Zva Creative Rose and a few Prima Flowers.
Altering these shapes are Super easy! I use Decoupage Gel, just spread it all over with a foam brush, then lay the paper over it, once the paper is stuck down you can flip the shape over and cut around the shape with an Xacto knife. I sometimes have to sand the edges, but if you cut carefully you don't even need to do that! I paint the sides after I lay the paper so that the paint will go over the edges and distress it a bit, but you can paint first or even cover the edges, too! After the gel is dry and the paper is fully adhered you lay on a top coat, let that dry and then decorate! In this case I just tied the ribbon, added the flowers, letter stickers and pearls and I was done!
