Sympathy cards are Hard! You just never know how bright it should be or how pretty or how feminine you can get...this time around it was a Tad easier because this card is for a co-worker from the whole office, so I went feminine and didn't worry about her husband. I needed the card to be pretty big so the office can all sign it, so I went digital for my image (Love that you can resize then for what you need!) I used this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch (with a few small deviations.) The ribbon treatment was something I saw on Lisa Johnson's blog I ruffled the whole piece, but then it was too big for the image to fit over it, so I just flattened the part under the image and left the ruffle to the side.
The Gorgeous crocheted flower is from Imaginisce and I added a K & Co Pearl brad to it. The paper is from the Wisteria pad by Basic Grey and I colored the image with Copics before adding some Stardust Stickles...enough with the details, right? Here is the card (another late night photo from a bad camera sorry...it is really pretty IRL)...
Supplies:
Stamps: Garden Anemone (Sketching Stamper)
Paper: Wisteria (Basic Grey,) Spring Moss, Vanilla CS (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Computer Printer, Copic Markers
Misc: Stardust Stickles, Crocheted Flower, Pearl Brad, Saddle Stitch Ribbon
Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteSympathy cards are the hardest and toughest ones to make, but you did really good. I love that digi stamp!
So pretty Hope. I love the floral image and the way you did your ruffle and the crocheted flower is wonderful.

ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful. Very thoughtful and peaceful. BTW... I gave one of your cards today. It was a hit!
ReplyDeleteI don't know...looks pretty good to me. I am selling my cards at a local Hair/Nail Salon and they have requested that I make some Sympathy cards and Get Well Cards. You are right about the Sympathy cards being hard. I just need to make middle of the road cards and some feminine and some more masculine I guess and call it good. Your card is BEAUTIFUL and will be appreicated I'm sure.
