Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #24...

If we don't have the key, we can't open whatever we dont' have that it unlocks. So what purpose would be served in finding whatever need be unlocked, which we don't have, without first having found the key what unlocks it? -Jack Sparrow
Did you know that this Saturday is Talk Like a Pirate Day? No joke...it's real! I thought it would be fun to do a little pirate cupcake for this week so we can all get in the mood! :) Arrrrrrr!!!

I found these delicious cuppies quite awhile ago and knew I wanted to use them for a Challnege and when I remembered Talk Like a Pirate Day I knew they would be perfect...unfortunately I can't find them again on Flickr, so I have no idea who made them. :(

I love the color combo on these...the turquoise, red and brown/kraft looked like a lot of fun, so I went with the colors and the theme for my inspiration. I pulled out an older The Greeting Farm set called Best Mates (I think it is retired now) and some NEW Bella Blvd Paper from the Super Stud line called Planetarium. The new Stars Cuttlebug folder seemed Perfect, so I had to use that, too! Kercheifs, bandanas, shirts and eye patches all got the Stickles treatment for some sparkle and I used a Sakura Stardust pen on her beltbuckle to make the "silver" really shine. The layout is this week's Weekend Sketch Chellenge...

I am giving this card to a friend who is going through a tough time right now so I really loved this sentiment in the set...

Supplies:
Stamps: Best Mates (The Greeting Farm)
Paper: Planetarium (Bella Blvd,) Kraft, White, Dark Chocolate CS (PTI)
Ink: Rich Cocoa, Tuxedo Black (Memento,) Sugar Candy Pigment Ink (Elzybells,) Copic Markers
Misc: Stardust Stickles, White Gel Pen, MS Grosgrain Ribbon, Woodgrain Buttons, Scrappers Floss, Sakura Stardust Pen, Scallop and Plain Circle Nesties, Stars Cuttlebug Folder

Here is a littel taste of what the Sweeties came up with. (Notice Michelle did not use a Pirate theme...go wherever your inspiration takes you!)

Don't forget check out what all the Sweeties have created this week...

We would love to have you play along this week! Make sure to add a direct link to your creation on Mr Linky below by Saturday, Sept 19th at 9 pm MT. If you upload to a public gallery like SCS or PCP make sure to use keyword CIC24 so we can easily find you. Remember, no cupcake stamps are required! I will post the Top 5 next Sunday!
