I am a day late on my Friday Blogger's Challenge post, sorry again ladies! I seem to really be running behind this week! This week's Challenge was to "Alter It!" I was SO happy to see this, because I just Happened to finish my very first Say it With Letters DT project!!! :)
My package came and I had no idea what to expect...when I opened it up and saw this set of houses I was SO excited! They are just Adorable and I had sooo many ideas immediatly come to mind! I decided to settle on Christmas as a theme and chose 3 coordinating Cosmo Cricket papers. (When I was done I realized I should have used the larger Poinsettia pattern on the larger house.)
I went pretty simple on these with minimal embellishments, the papers are so rich and beautiful they really don't need much...the swirls and snowflakes are even a part of the pattern on the larger house. I just added some eaves with a scallop punch, some snowflakes with some more punches and a whole bunch of glitter! The chimneys got a good coating of snow courtesy of my Drippy Goo punch and more glitter...
I stamped Happy Holidays on a die cut tag for the larger house and added snowflakes, snow, glitter and a few pearls on the tag and snowflakes...
Here is a little detail on the snowflakes and pearls...
For the medium house I just added snow, eaves, glitter and a little sprig of holly...
you can click on any of the pictures to see a larger view and more detail...
the littlest house doesn't have a chimney and I used a darker paper, so I wanted to brighten it up a little, I pulled the pearls from the Large house in with a small Zva Creative Pearl Swirl...
You can see the Unfinished Houses as well as some other Design Team ideas for how to decorate them (Check out the Awesome Halloween Candle Holder Idea!!!) at the Say it with Letters Etsy store.
