Spring Butterfly...

The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough. ~Rabindranath Tagore I was so excited when I opened my Say It With Letters package this week!!! A Big Bold Beautiful Butterfly!!! I pulled out my 12x12 paper storage and started lookin gat all the floral papers I had, the spring papers, the pinks and purples and yellows...but when I saw this older Chatterbox paper sitting there I Knew that is what I wanted to use! I had 2 sheets, so I used the back side for the base, then after I outlined the shape and cut it out I laid the negative over the floral side and freehanded the shape a bit smaller. I used my Janome Sew Mini around the edges...sort of, lol, I am Not a straight sew-er! :) I attached the green base paper with Decoupage Gel, then glued the floral piece on with Mono Multi.

After the papers were attached I just started grabbing things...LOL :) I knew I wanted to add Pearls, so I grabbed a few Zva Creative Pearl Swirls and just played around, I ended up using 2 different large swirls to get them to go the correct direction, then added a small one to the lower part of each wing.

I added some white Prima flowers scattered around, topped each of them with a vintage button and then pulled out my Martha Stewart Butterfly punch and just scattered those around as well...this project was Very haphazard as you can see. :) I added some Liquid Pearls to the spines of each butterfly and stickled the wings, then that didn't seem like enough, LOL, so I added some blue Rose Buds, Leaf punches AND a fairy image from Sweet November!

I'm not sure if you can see, but I also painted the edge white and adhered some French Blue Grosgrain ribbon to it. I really think I added some of Everything to this poor butterfly...hopefully he can still fly! LOL :)

I just Love this sweet little fairy that Amy Young designed, she is colored with Copics and I did a little highlighting with a White Gel Pen and more Stickles...
Thanks for stopping by, sorry this post was SO picture heavy, but this butterfly shape is just so fun to work with!!!!
