Embarassed to Say...

Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.

I am so embarassed to say this, but I was contacted by an editor to do some cards for possible publication, I needed to do a group of similar cards, and I have been working away at it, and then just gave up...I guess I am just not the type to create under pressure. After making a few similar cards I am not even sure I like the original...UGH, how hard we are on ourselves!!!!

So, since I am not sending them out for publication I will share a few here...

  2. You ARE too hard on yourself. Those are great.

  3. When playing becomes stressful, then its no longer playing. If having to make these for a possible publication turned it into something unpleasant, its fine to back off. You're not a quitter. You simply know when the game isn't fun any more because someone else is making up the rules, you change things back so that you're the rule maker again. You make cards for your own fulfillment not to meet someone else's standards.

I understand why you were contacted to submit some cards because you're very good. I also understand making cards to submit takes the fun out of the process. Don't be embarassed. You simply didn't lose sight of the reason we make cards.

  4. Even though you chose not to send your cards in they are great cards. I adore the "fishy" card, it's so clever and cute. Ida

  5. I feel the same way as you as far as working under pressure. However, I simply go blank. I've got to tell you though that these three designs are absolutely publish worthy! I love each and every one of them and I don't think I'm alone in making this comment.

If nothing else, just sit back and enjoy yourself and don't worry about what others think. Sometimes it can be just too hard on people. Just have fun and remember why you started stamping in the first place.

    Hugs to you!
